ABOUT
SARA RENEE

I've been studying light for twenty years, which seems wild because I don't feel old enough for that math to make sense. I love to make portraits that look like paintings. Life is art, so making beautiful portraits is easy.

I love when clients turn into friends and my photoshoots are always a rip-roaring good time. I’m also a wife, mother of five, comedian, and storyteller. My studio is nestled in the rolling hills of Athens, Tennessee, smack dab between Chattanooga and Knoxville.

I’m passionate about creating real, authentic moments rather than forcing poses. I love connecting with people and paying attention to the subtle nuances that make you unique. My approach combines documentary and fine art into a beautiful, organic hybrid that's honest and raw with a little bit of polish and a whole lot of warm glow.

"Her style is amazing and unlike any other photographer in our area! "

— Aubree Lee

"I absolutely love her lively energy and down-to-earth attitude."

— Kayla Newport

My Style

Classic.  Iconic.  Quality.
No generic filters. No rushed snapshots.
Every image I create is thoughtfully composed, edited with care, and designed to be a lasting work of art—made uniquely for you.
I believe your photographs should endure, telling your story with beauty and authenticity for years to come.

My Story

As a mother of five spirited and beautiful children, I know first hand how swiftly the days pass by and how quickly our children grow—almost as if they stretch in their sleep and tumble out of bed taller every morning.
These fleeting chapters deserve to be preserved with care and intention, so you’ll always have something to look back on with full hearts and misty eyes.  This is what I want to do for you and your family: photograph you with your loved ones so you have these moments captured for all time.

                                                                                   ps. this is me

My Method

I want to know how you want to be photographed. Who do you want to be photographed with? Children?  Parents?  Spouse?  What's your favourite colour?  Is there a wall in your home you'd like to hang a portrait on?  Do you see yourself in the studio or outdoors?  What colours look best on you?  Tell me all the details, and I will make it happen.
Remember: you will never regret having a beautiful portrait of yourself or your family.

BEHIND
THE LENS

I’m Sara Renee.                                  Raised an adventurer, I've lived and traveled all over the world, but now I like to stay home. I talk with my hands and I’m a really good listener.

God created me, like he created you, to love beauty. Ever since I was a child, my imagination has created and envisioned beautiful things. In a world where most things are grey and beige so no one is offended, I stand on being bold so beauty can do soulwork.

My theology strongly impacts my photography, and I use light to fill, shape, and empower those I photograph, all while believing that Christ came into the world as light, so that whoever believes in Him may not remain in darkness (John 12:46). The definition of photography is "writing or drawing with light," and the connection to Jesus being the light of the world is undeniable to me as a photographer.

I believe there are no unphotogenic people, and think you should stop making excuses for not being in photos. You are worthy of being loved, remembered, and photographed.
