• What’s your ethnic and religious heritage?
African American and I’m a Christian glory to the King!

What’s your earliest memory of becoming aware that some people looked different from you?
I guess I was in the 1st grade when I realized there were different color people. However I didn’t treat them any different. They were still people just not the same color as me. How I was raised by my mom.

• What’s your earliest memory of becoming aware of racism?
I think I was about 8 or 9. I was about to fight a boy that was picking on me and the kids chanted “ fight, fight the black and the white. If the white don’t win we all jump in!”

• What’s one way you think your life would have been different had you been born another race?
I believe I would still love people. It’s rooted in me glory to God!

• What is one way you think you could connect with white people who have differing views about race?
Pray for them. Talk with them not argue but listen and communicate. Teach them. I truly believe some people are ignorant of the way they treat people. It’s their way of living. It’s natural. It comes easy. But we are all God’s people are we are to love one another. Maybe some people are ignorant of it because they don’t know it yet. How they were raised. How they were taught to see people or wasn’t taught at all. Color of someone should not be hated! Where is this hatred forming from? Praying that God does a work in our lives. I guess the question why would be a good start with it. Why do you hate my skin color. Not me as a person. Because you don’t know me. But my skin color. Why? And why do you feel this is ok? Where is Jesus in this?

Glory to His Name! It’s not worth my Joy! Jesus is my present help!
