And now for a little history…
Jules + I have been friends for a long, long time. If my calculations are correct, we’ve known each other for eleven years. After being friends, we were even room-mates at this wonderful apartment called the 164. Here are some historical photos from that era.
This first one is when we broke into an old house downtown Cleveland (it’s no longer there), and took photos upstairs with sparklers. The owner caught us as we were leaving the house. He told us we could “come back and hanky-panky any time we wanted, as long as we didn’t make drugs or live in the house.”
I strongly protested, “Sir! We were not hanky-panky-ing!”. He just winked and left.
Stay weird, Cleveland!
This is the 164 in all its glory! It has since been turned into a bunch of 2-3 bedroom apartments and is right above the new Five Point Square restaurant (formerly a recording studio).
The Five Point Square restaurant has definitely made 1st Street look a whole lot better!
It was an old apartment, and sometimes we would find a bird in the bathroom. It was all sorts of magical for me.
This is a corner of my bedroom.
Lots of hanging out happened in this place.
I love pineapples and always tried to keep fresh pineapple in the apartment.
These were the original room-mates. This photo was taken before my parents took us all out to dinner. Good times!
